Exercise: Although he has hardly anything to eat, the farmer on the picture has to give part of the harvest to the lord. This year, however, the harvest failed. What could the farmer say to the lord? Also try to think what the lord could reply. (An exercise inspired by the example of a recent Dutch history textbook.)
